Start with one task
Choose a recurring task with a clear start and finish: for example, turning public source notes into a reviewed article draft. Name the expected artefact and the next receiver. A useful handoff does not require the next person to reread the entire chat.
Use a small handoff record
Record task ID, input version, allowed edits, output location, checks, limitations and the next action. Link the actual artefact. State which checks ran and which did not. An exit status, timestamp and source hash make the record inspectable. A hash identifies bytes; it does not establish correctness by itself.
Practice the boundary
Use the free packet builder to describe a public sample. Ask a teammate whether they can locate the result and decide what remains without asking you to reconstruct the session. If not, improve the record. When source files change, preserve the old receipt and check the changed version.
