What belongs in an operator cockpit?

Choose useful signals before adding another bot command.

Practical pattern · reviewed15October2026 · public sample exercise

Choose the decisions first

An operator cockpit should answer what is running, what is blocked and what needs a decision. Start with those three questions. A stream of every event makes the important ones harder to notice. Group information by task and show the owner and observation time.

Separate reading from control

Status viewing and command execution have different permission boundaries. Start with read-only status. Add a permitted command only when its actor, target, limits, acknowledgement and failure path are defined. A session name is routing information, not identity. The message-authentication case explains that distinction.

Write the event inventory

For one public example, list each event, the decision it enables and the action allowed after it. Remove events that do not help a decision. Keep delivery acknowledgement separate from evidence that a person read or acted on a message. This inventory becomes a useful input for a scoped Telegram integration.
